I bought the R1200GS in February 2007 from Bluebell in Crewe. I wanted a bike that I could take to Greece and be reasonably confident we'd get there. So I part exchanged my CB1300S for this showroom condition machine:
In June of 2007 Karen and I rode to the Greek island of Rhodes on the bike. I'd only ridden 1800 miles on the bike before undertaking this trip. During the 26 days it took, I rode 2040 faultless miles on the R1200GS. The Sargent seat made a huge difference to comfort, and replacing the BMW top box with a Givi 50L box allowed all the holiday gear to be packed.
Although not as involving to ride as the R1150GS, and definitely more road orientated, the R1200GS is "The Ultimate Riding Machine".
